Besides his immense love of the game and coaching, Coach McGrew loves to watch his two daughters, Meghan (age 17) and Caitlin (age 13), play competitive soccer, as well as being a positive role model for the players he trains and/or coaches.
Coach McGrew was a well rounded athlete playing goalkeeper in the local community league and lettering in baseball at Santa Teresa HS and later went onto play in the Latin American baseball league.
Coach McGrew has been involved heavily with the California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) and has attained United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National “D” status in 2006 and was invited onto the CYSA Instructional staff by Karl Dewazien, State Coaching Director.
Coach McGrew has also trained in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America under Tony Waiters, Greg Miles and Richard Reece to obtain recognition as a National Goalkeeping coach in 2005.
In 2005 Butch obtained recognition by the National Endurance & Sports Trainers Association in the area of Speed, Agility and Quickness. In 2008 Butch obtained recognition by the International Sports Science Association as a Certified Fitness Trainer.


Coach Woodard, M.A. is a Certified Sports Psychologist and School Counselor with over 7 years of coaching high school level soccer.
Currently, Brock is the head coach of the varsity boy’s soccer team at Saratoga High School as well as a School Counselor for emotionally disturbed middle school students in San Jose. Coach Woodard also meets with athletes individually to help enhance optimal performance through the development of a healthy mental game.
Coach Woodard earned his Master degree in Counseling from Sonoma State University and his certification in Sports Psychology at San Diego University of Integrated Studies. While at Sonoma State, Brock played soccer for 2 years under the guidance of Marcus Zeimer. During his time at Sonoma he played in the elite eight NCAA II tournament, named to first team all conference and was given the captains role his senior year.
After graduating from Sonoma State he moved to Hawaii where he worked as a School Counselor and played soccer in the Hawaii Amateur Soccer League. While playing in the league he was named to first team all league for his contributions in the midfield. Brock was also hired as the head coach of the Kahuku High and Intermediate Soccer Program.
After living in Hawaii for four years he moved to the Silicon Valley were he currently has been living for the past 6 years with his wife Stephanie and two lovely girls, Ava and Annika in Los Altos, Ca. He coached for Monte Vista before taking a leave from coaching to get his Certification in Sports Psychology and raise his children.
